Hi

I've been thinking of part ex my Audi A6 saloon tdi 14 plate for another Audi A6 Avant 3.0tdi Quattro new or a 15 plate used, but do I really need to change it.
.
The current car is on PCP so still just over 2yrs to go on the current plan so I don't really know where I stand on this either.

Hope you can help me out.
 
The fact that you need talked out of something so stupid suggests you're probably going to do it anyway. May as well go ahead.:rolleyes:
 
Well i do value people opinions, but if there is better out there for money I will listen..i just thought that audi would give me more back in part exchange than bmw.
 
How do the finances stack up? Your deposit on a new PCP is the trade in value less the amount owed so without the numbers it's impossible to say

well I have a appointment with audi Sunday just to see what the figures would be, nothing is properly confirmed yet
 
You won't have much equity in the car if you've only been on finance one year, unless you put a big deposit down to begin with.
 
that what i been thinking to be honest, I don't really get how the PCP works to be honest. I would need at just over £27,000 back if i was to part ex

The discussion about it is, certainly. Upgrade to an a6 3.0tdi for 32p and a pack of hobnobs? You'd be mad not to! Upgrade to an a6 3.0 tdi for another £800 a month for the next decade? Not so much
 
With the sums of money involved here anyone who can't work out for themselves whether they have put enough into and negotiated hard enough on the existing deal to ensure they are never in a negative position pretty much deserves everything they get.

Given the amount cars as new as a year old A6 will drop (especially from anywhere close to list) it seems......unlikely
 
Quite, there's a very good chance that OP is in negative equity, if he put a lot deposit down and didn't haggle hard in the first place then he's not going to have a penny towards a new a6

You signed up for something that could have significant financial impact that you don't understand? :confused:
 
Ok. I do roughly understand PCP but not a expert on it. When I originally bought it I did actually haggle and got some discount, Infact better than my workplace discounts deal.

As i mentioned above nothing has been set in stone yet, All I was doing was browsing Audi used and saw an A6 3.0tdi Quattro that i liked which was £36,000 and I was just seeing what deal I could do with them on Sunday to see if it was finically possible without costing me much more in monthly payments etc
 
Big question here is how much you put up front as a deposit on your current car.

Without knowing that it's impossible to say if you are likely to be in negative equity or not.
 
He'll get that information when he goes in to Audi. However, he'll know his deposit right now, which will give a better idea than this thread currently contains.

My car has never been in negative equity due to how large a deposit I put down.
