Is this socialism or Feminism?

IMO this Gender Pay Gap nonsense is very much about Marxist equalisation, equality of outcome as opposed to equality of opportunity.
Woman Chose to work less hours, they chose to work less dangerous jobs that are lower paid, Woman make their own choices and its those choices that are the result of the Gender Pay Gap.

In that video Julia Hartley-Brewer puts these points to the activist and ask what should we do about that.
Of course she never gave an answer, her response to all of these questions as it always is with activists like this was to proclaim neurotic ideology to dress up "because it feels right" in convoluted meaningless language.

I think its about time to call out this crap for what it actually is, Marxism creep.

I don't think it will ever be equal but with giving equal leave rights it will be a lot more equal than it is now.

Men do have equal maternity rights don't they?

If you think Women are going to come around to telling their husbands "I'll go back to work, you take care of the kid" in equal measure you're deluded, If their husband is earning and she has a kid she wants to be the one to look after it.

You're not going to change that.

So you wouldn't mind if a women in your firm, doing the same job with the same skills, was paid more than you because she was female?

Is that what you think the gender pay gap is?

Men and Women of the same experience doing the same job the same number of hours are paid the same, we actually already have discrimination laws in place for that.

Yet its not always enforced/implemented. Wife experiences cases of it in her profession very often. In fact helped a friend out with it just recently which resulted in 3 years backdated pay as her friend was paid less than a male colleague in the same role.

That's what existing laws are for, if you try to fiddle anyone out of pay you should and will be prosecuted for it, anyone is by law entitled to the same pay and its not just Women who are victims of not being paid what they should be, what it is not is some misogynist conspiracy to pay Woman less.

Yet these laws are only enforced if someone makes an actual claim, which is why its still quite widespread and contributes to some of the gap.

Same applies to all groups, Disabled, Minorities, Men.

The idea that Women have some sort of a monopoly on pay gaps due to some conspiracy is convenient to Man haters and Socialists, it is fantasy.

Its clearly not a fantasy, however some of the extreme SJW antics around it are over the top. As always there is a middle ground.

Name one reputable economist who agrees there is an inherent equal work pay gap to Woman, there aren't any, the only people who are pushing that narrative is those SJWs who invented it and far left news outlets.

Now I have to preface my reply with the fact that I have on occasion used some anecdotal information in some of my posting here.

But I am willing to bet that if we actually had the details here that your claim would at least to a significant degree be found to be incorrect.

That fact that you describe your wife's friend as apparently working in a 'profession' and that there was an apparently a difference in her pay and a colleagues in the first place is highly indicative that she is/was working in a more specialist field with negotiated salary and often where there are significant difference in roles.

It like the Carrie Gracie argument where the BBC capitulated and paid her the same as the North American editor when she was the China editor with back pay on the basis that they were doing the 'same' job when it was obvious they were not

Yeah for a start Carrie was working half the hours of her colleague, the BBC still capitulated though because that is the world they have created for themselves, i have no sympathy for them.

Nobody wants to work a 60 hour week, let alone likes it. (On the whole).

On the whole, I'm for equal opportunity, however not equal outcome.
There's a whole host of reasons why equal outcome isn't viable without "positive" discrimination.

Equality of outcome is taking something someone earned to give it to someone who has not. its classic Socialism.

Fairly sick of this topic but figured it is an appropriate time to post this
