In regards to MTU, I don't know if TalkTalk require 1400 (If Rabtech knows for sure though, s/he's probably right).
Once you've got the DGTeam firmware on the router, there's an option to allow you to test different MTU sizes. Slightly easier than messing around with it manually...though slightly less easy than using TCPOptimizer or similar.
I used to work for Talktalk 2nd Line Technical Support, the recommended MTU settings for LLU are 1432 (for routers that support it - ie, Philips - Talktalk branded, Huawei SmartAX MT882, Huawei HG520S), all other routers ie Belkin, Netgear, DLink, Linksys etc should use 1400.
You can do various tests as detailed here: http://www.broadbandreports.com/faq/695 to find your ideal MTU also, although to be quite honest I doubt you'll notice the difference.
Just thought I'd post and let you know how things went. I'm pleased to say that it's worked brilliantly. I installed the DGTeam firmware and did a factory reset and everything just worked
Now I just need to figure out why my internet connection drops so much with Talk Talk...
