We've all been and done air cooling, most moved on to water. However I want a new toy and that leaves me with phase.

It'll be purely a toy and I'll a cheapish rig for it.

I'd be more than grateful if someone could provide the following info.

rough cost
which units to avoid/buy
Rough heatload capability
socket compatibility
Uprating evap heads, regassing etc for higher heatloads.
Ease of setup etc as it looked darn complicated from a vapochill ls review

That lot should give me enough to decide if its a route I'll be taking. If not I'll be researching LN2

LN2 and DICE requires some practice and is more expensive I would suggest getting a phase change unit before going that far.

I would contact LittleDevil & piotres about prices of their units and other details.

You will be wanting a single stage unit to start off with.

LD has a work log thread on his SS unites over on BenchTec. His units go right down to -30,5°c when @ 280W. piotres also has build logs on there as well.

You wouldn't need to deal with regassing or anything like that, a lot has improved since the days of vapochill units. You can get mounting kits for basically every socket these days.
