Talk to me about The Walking Dead

She becomes one of my favourites. The only thing that irritates me with her is how she enters rooms/buildings expecting trouble with the katana on her back sheathed and the hand on the hilt.

Draw the ****ing sword! You are in close quarters, get the sword ready!

If you like the Governor I can't recommend the book series rise of the governor highly enough. A great series on how he get's to his position.

NERD RANT: First off I get that this is to make her character look Hollywood cool, but a Katana is a terrible weapon for indoor fighting, much to say anywhere that you aren't fighting armored opponents because it is to long to swing in say a hall or small room.

It has been proven practically impossible to draw a medium to long length sword from the back and yeah as mentioned, when they are right next to you it is already going to be to late to draw your sword.
She should at least keep it ready to swing at all times, which is why it isn't a great sword due to a Katana being a heavy to carry sword because it is used for cutting against iron armour.

I accept it for the show, but it does start to unravel the illusion of the show when I can't help but notice a gaping hole in the technicality and then I am sitting there thinking, why aren't you wearing any leathers or something bite proof instead of a blooming T-Shirt and Shorts.

Just finished season 2. Not a bad ending, just very predictable and I didn't find it as dramatic as it was meant to be.

The show needs to focus more on interaction with other survivors, scavenging and rebuilding. As it is, the show is just 'who's gonna die this week'.

Spoiler from the comics about some stuff that happened in Season 2. It won't ruin anything for anyone that has seen Season 2.

In the comics Carl shoots Shane as Ric is still too soft to do it. It dramatically changes the relationship between the two of them.

Season 3 is definitely a step up from the previous 2. The acting especially. Everyone upped their game, but Andrew Lincoln knocks it out of the park... And David Morrisey's performance really is quite brilliant. Also the kid who plays Carl is pretty impressive too.

Really quite impressed with season 3.

One thing I don't like/understand- that girl had two walkers and chained up and the doctor said they were like camouflage... As In they won't be attacked if they are there. That doesn't really make sense considering the series so far tbh.

what they mean is the smell and the fact they are around doesn't attract new zombies to her.

they have done it in earlier episodes if they cover themselves in the dead flesh the zombies will mostly ignore them if they are careful.

I have been watching it on and off since it came out. Normally watches 2-3 episodes in a day then not watch it for 6 months.

I found the show to be wholly predictable when you step back and look at it.

The show is focus on a core group of characters, some gets killed, some added on later but the premise is they are in a world of zombies and always seeking refuge. So it means they look for a safe place, while getting there encounter X Events.

When they get there they stay for the duration of the season doing :-

Food gathering
New people wanting to join
Fending off zombies
Fending off other undesirable humans.

Until they can't hold down the fort anymore and abandon ship. Repeat seeking new refuge.

Rinse and repeat.

I realise that is what is going to happen at the start of Season 2 when they arrived at the farm. Took me 2 years before I picked it up again.

Episode - 13 and 14 of season 3...incredibly boring! First, a long conversation between Rick and The Governor about nothing in particular whilst everyone else just stood around. Second, The Governor chasing Andrea for the whole episode... Well, I say chasing it mostly consisted of walking slowly through the woods /warehouse.

Edit- episode 15. Merle and Michonne road trip.... What the hell has happened here?!

Well, I've stuck with it. Near the end of season 4 now. Just when I think I am getting this show, it goes in the wrong direction or gets boring. The show is at its best when they have a base and it becomes about scavenging/interacting with other settlements(like Jericho, a great premise for a show) . I thought it had got to that stage, but now they are all split up and it's like the show has regressed back to its former state.

I think the show is full of zombie killing and survival but constantly retreds, stumbles and falls short of being anything other than boring. It regularly disappoints but that is often overlooked as they will randomly kill off main cast members often just for the shock value and to dangle the carrot. Don't get me wrong the production values are very good and some of the characters and back stories are interesting. After keeping with it since the beginning I am often left asking myself why I am still watching it. I guess it's that I am invested and want to reach a conclusion.

The start of season 5 is brilliant (first 3 or so episodes) but then it has drifted quite a bit. Not been too impressed with the 2nd half of season 5 so far. :(

Season 4 finished. Thought it ended quite well and set up the next season fairly well too.

Gonna have to wait for the 5th season to appear on Netflix, whenever that will be(yeah, could be a while there!)...Couldn't imagine watching these week by week tbh. I doubt I would have got through the second season like that.

I feel a bit sorry for the actor who plays Carl - that kind of role if you do it well no one notices, if you do it badly everyone notices and its actually really hard especially for a young actor to do that role well.

After reading the first 3 and a half volumes of the walking dead comic, with the material and characters that pile of dung threw them it's made me see just what a brilliant job they did with the characters and character development because the graphic novels are laughably terrible.

Seriously if you haven't read them bang in volume 1 pdf into google and read the first one. It will only take you half hour and it will make you appreciate the series even more. My son's octonauts and cbbc magazines had better comic dialogue. I wish I could screenshot them, terrible.
