Talking in bed

We've had some of our best converstaions in bed. After sexy times on a Sunday morning is usually the prime spot, although I guess that is different. Anyway I think it's easy to talk intirmately without distractions in bed.

I have no trouble sleeping so I don't mind talking before I sleep, I guess I never get any nagging or crappy small talk off her, so if I did then yeah I would just want to sleep like a lot of you have said.

I'm usually ok with a chat after we clamber under the sheets. No distractions (external), nothing needs to be done, the day is over, it's rest time and I don't mind a quick recap of her day. If it goes too far, or I'm just knackered, I'll either say so or I'll follow one of the options described above - need to keep her on her toes! :D

I talk in bed too. It's because your mind wonders when you're not doing anything.

This is very true. Having had counselling for sleeping problems, it's when you stop that your brain starts to purge its thoughts ready for sleep. It's like closure on the day.

The problem for most people, including myself, is that sitting in front of the TV , even if you are chilled doesn't help because the mind is focussed on what you are watching. Only when there isn't anything to distract you, can the mind unwind. This is why they recommend a bath before bedtime. When the mind is purged of the conscious thoughts, the subconscious thoughts can take over.

These are things that you think to yourself “why have I just thought of that now”?? Like when your making love, you remember that you may have not put the bin out!! :p

To the OP.. I think its good that your Mrs can talk to you, no matter what time it is. It's when she doesn't you have a problem :)

If the topic is something horrendous ...say... shoes! or "thingy at the office's boyfriend trouble"...

A dutch blindfold is the only way.

(assume the '69' position, straddling the lady who is lying prone beneath you. Then skillfully manoevre your 'pendulum' over her mouth, slowly lowering the fondleberries so that they rest on her sockets, rendering her temporarily blind and affording you ample time to checkout any potential exits for if shoes insists on being the topic of conversation)

Thtas very true

I dont mind her talking to me once we go to bed, its just i said to her that most blokes feel the same about it and she did not beleive me

Sometimes I wish my fiancee would just shut up and go to sleep. Don't women do enough talking during the day??

A conversation of importance is alright since it is quiet but to go on about clothes or shoes puts me off wanting sex for the night (if before).

After sex its also weird for me personally to start going on about how work was that day. Why cant they "do it" and go to sleep?

My g/f could talk underwater. All the time for 10 years I've just had a constant stream of babble bouncing off my eardrums... early on I managed some mental trick to either filter it out completely or treat is as a soothing background noise, like a waterfall or something.

These days when she actually cares if I "hear" whatever she's on about she writes it on a piece of paper and shoves it under my nose instead. :p

Girlfriend: "Did you hear about what happened to the neighbours today?"

Booner: *sticks ipod in*

Girlfriend: "I'm talking to you, can't you...."

*Music blares*

Girlfriend: Muffled words and hand gestures

Booner: *rolls over, slips out mobile phone and texts*

" Night Night dear xxxxxxxx "

His eyes must be incredibly dry when he wakes up!

Ok after a quick google for "sleep eyes open" I concur it is possible and causes some people quite a bit of discomfort ie -

Hi,
I have continual problems with dry eyes b/c I sleep with my eyes open! I am young and healthy other than this and I do not know what to do about it. I use drops upon wakening all the time and still I cannot fall asleep for more than 3 hours at a time without waking up and having really dry eyes. I have tried using a pad or something on top of my eyes but I sleep on my side and the pad always falls off so I doesn't do any good. The other problem that I have is that the thick drops do not work for me at all. I put them in and they only help to aggravate my blepharitis and stick to my eyelids. It seems that nothing helps. I also have punctal plugs to help keep the moisture in my eyes. Does anyone else have problems with keeping their eyes open while they sleep? Is there anything that I can do about this?
Please let me know...

Thanks,
Eric

The answer -

1) tape eyes closed with electric tape its just right so that it doesnt pull skin or eye lashes off
2)swim gogles.. get some at KMart or and store.. keeps air out:(

me and my wife, talk utter BS when in bed before ghoing to sleep.

We have the most random crap conversations, which usually turn into a bit of hows your father? :)
