Talking to God

Well, I've been told that, apparently, the Pope can talk/communicate with God directly. I don't know if this is (supposedly) true or if it's just someone making up something. Is it supposed to be true?

(NB: This thread isn't to discuss whether it's actually true or not, just to discuss what is supposed to be true.)

Well most christian relegions are supposed to be able to talk to god "directly" through prayer I think.

Im Christian and yes i normally have goes at catholic because it has many man made rules.
Imo you cant "talk" to God like you say but you can prey and god will communicate to people through subtle ways through things like your surroundings and through events that happen in your life.
He doesn't how ever just come up and say "Hey im God, hows your day been? What are you going to be up to later? You better not be sinning"

But who knows catholics might think different to how i do :confused:

i didnt think you just got "Christians", i thought it was something like Catholics and Protestants where groups of Christianity...

Yup, that's about right. Catholics, Protestants and Orthodoxy, with the Protestant church made up of lots of off shoots.

Yeah generally speaking Catholics are Christians although they impose so many stupid man-made rules and stuff it kinda gets in the way and spoils what could be.

Catholics are Christian but they also have a few different beliefs and laws then other types of christians. They have laws made by the Pope.
All types of Christians are like thats though with some different beliefs and laws, look at Jehovah's for example

Im pentecostal and we just go by whats straight out of the bible.

BTW if you read the book Song of Songs in the Bible you will be quite surprised by what you read :eek:

To the OP + everyone, why don't you try talking to God, see if he says anything/answers etc. ## Disclaimer ## I wouldn't post you results on the forum though because either a) if you think he answers and you tell people they put you down as nuts or b) if you don't think he answers and you tell people they will probaly still think your nuts for trying.
