Whats the catch?

12 month contract, £30 a month, 400 minutes, 1000 texts, 1Gb of internet and it uses the Vodafone network.

Sorely tempted - the only issue I've had with Giffgaff is the dire data network and terrible signal quality provided by O2, so the opportunity to benefit from the lower rates of a virtual operator but the solid network performance of Vodafone is tempting.

But is there a catch? They don't cut down the data speed or anything like that.. right?

I cannot find anything comparable on Vodafone themselves - and I'm loath to pick T-Mobile without them sharing 3g signal with Orange.

I went for the deal in the end.

Just got my first bill - which includes a letter stating that my deal includes 'Unlimited Data'.

Everything went better than expected.

Well for now it's clearly here in black and white. I received it today.

They only launched the unlimited offer 3 months ago?

Where has this apparently come from - I've googled and can find nothing but the announcements about the unlimited plans introduction as recently as April?

It is 1GB, over 1GB and you'll get charged 10p per MB...

It clearly states in writing with my bill that is 'Unlimited'. It is there in black and white.

You may have it unlimited now, but come your next bill if you go over 1GB you'll be getting charged.

If you also look on their website:

Direct from the terms and conditions I have, in writing:

Some Pay Monthly contracts include "Unlimited" data access as part of the tariff allowance.
There is no limit on mobile internet usage on contracts which include "Unlimited" data access.

It says quite clearly on my paperwork 'Your contract includes 400 minutes, 1000 text messages and unlimited data access'.

Do I need to scan it in?

Mine says that also, but I contacted Talk Mobile and the woman there confirmed all unlimited plans WILL be changing to 1GB, please ring them yourself to get confirmation, I would be interested to hear if they tell you the same thing.

I have no reason to ring them. I have unlimited data until they inform me otherwise, in writing. It's not up to me to call them to ask about something the clearly spelled out to me in a letter yesterday.

You can easily cancel Gadget Helpline and insurance, they don't even hard sell you.

'Crappy HTC Sense'? HTC Sense is fantastic, the phone is worth it for Sense alone! I don't have any issues with excessive data usage at all.
