I went for the deal in the end.

Just got my first bill - which includes a letter stating that my deal includes 'Unlimited Data'.

Everything went better than expected.

It won't include unlimited data in the next few weeks, apparently they're sending letters round stating that all unlimited data plans are going to 1GB.

Well for now it's clearly here in black and white. I received it today.

They only launched the unlimited offer 3 months ago?

Might be worth hitting the data usage very hard, then if you get a letter dropping your data limit to 1GB you have a reason to escape the contract due to changes in T & Cs.

Where has this apparently come from - I've googled and can find nothing but the announcements about the unlimited plans introduction as recently as April?

If you check the website they're all 1gb and the contract was advertised as 1gb.

On my bill that I received today, it's down as unlimited, but according to the woman at Talk Mobile on the phone, it is being changed to 1gb and from a certain date all unlimited plans will be 1gb and the charge after that is 10p per MB as on their website.

The woman at Talk Mobile. Ring em up.

It's most likely just some older wording that it's 'unlimited' when it actually means that it's unlimited but capped by a fair use policy (in this case, 1GB).

All the networks were doing this but they've been forced to stop now as it was a massive farce.

It is 1GB, over 1GB and you'll get charged 10p per MB...

You may have it unlimited now, but come your next bill if you go over 1GB you'll be getting charged.

If you also look on their website:

Under 12 month, inclusive data:

Mobile Internet Data (included in tariff allowance)
Some Pay Monthly contract and SIMple tariffs include inclusive Mobile Internet Data as part of the tariff allowance.
Mobile Internet Data is subject to a limit of 500MB or 1GB as stated on your plan per monthly billing cycle, and then subject to a charge of 10p per MB thereafter.
You will be notified by text message when you are approaching your limit and advised that charging will apply if this limit is exceeded.

It is 1GB, over 1GB and you'll get charged 10p per MB...

It clearly states in writing with my bill that is 'Unlimited'. It is there in black and white.

If you also look on their website:

Direct from the terms and conditions I have, in writing:

Some Pay Monthly contracts include "Unlimited" data access as part of the tariff allowance.
There is no limit on mobile internet usage on contracts which include "Unlimited" data access.

It says quite clearly on my paperwork 'Your contract includes 400 minutes, 1000 text messages and unlimited data access'.

Do I need to scan it in?

That makes this deal a magnificent deal then!

It's worth noting for people that the SGS2 is now under the same deal but it's £20 more upfront cost (it was £60 or more before).

Mine says that also, but I contacted Talk Mobile and the woman there confirmed all unlimited plans WILL be changing to 1GB, please ring them yourself to get confirmation, I would be interested to hear if they tell you the same thing.

Sorely sorely tempted to get the SGS2 on one of these 12 month contracts. Is there any way to increase the amount of minutes?

I have no reason to ring them. I have unlimited data until they inform me otherwise, in writing. It's not up to me to call them to ask about something the clearly spelled out to me in a letter yesterday.
