With the level of neglect and negligence of you owning a car, with no regard for basic maintenance I hope your car does go bang, then you might learn.

With mine I check the fluids almost every time I drive it - partly because the engine's worth almost as much as the car

I bet you most people will not check there engine oil or anything else.
Ive never seen anyone go out before they go to work and do "basic maintenance" as you put it on there car.
And i have checked it once. when i first brought it about 3 weeks ago. and it was fine but was making the tappet noise.

Will echo R420 hehe, although I am having a pop it's for you're own good. My uncle is one of those people that can't be arsed with basic maintenance and it has cost him thousands but A)He never learns and B)He take the attitude its just a car and maintenance is an inconvenience.

To put my uncle into perspective he's the sort of person that will run a tire so bald that it bursts and then tries blaming the tire.

So I'm just trying to help save you money, not only does basic maintenance help to prevent wear it can also highlight any problems such as HGF if you see mayonnaise under the oil cap.
