task manager + explorer uses 10% of cpu each

hi there,

on my laptop explorer and task manager both take 10% of the processor time each all the time leading to the system being a lot slower than usual (is only a 1800mhz p4 laptop) so I need all the processing power available.

does anyone know why this happens and what I can do to fix it?

both - even when the machine is idle they take 10% of the processor, and when running folding 100% cpu use they also take 10% each. Really weird problem.
