Tattoo t'experts!

I reckon between £200 and £250, it's quite big but doesn't involve any colour so should be cheaper. It all depends on how long the tattooist takes. An average of tattoo shops per hour among friends is £40-50 an hour. That might take up to 3 (£150).

I know my original estimate is high but I always guess over just in case.

Let the tattooist improvise a bit too! Only if he's good though, then you'd end up with something slightly different and with some individual flair!

I am DEAD against tat's (which is not the issue here) but if you are to get one, get one YOU design, so at least it means something, and you won't see someone else with the same thing.

Thanks for the estimation mate :) I was expecting £350 - £400!

And yeah...maybe...tbh that design is very very rare, I had to take a picture of it and trace it in photoshop (6hrs that took! :o ) He comes recommended by a couple of family members so if he thinks he can change the design to my liking I'll let him experiment :)

See my last post mate. The chances of me seeing this design elsewhere is pretty much second to none. But I know what you mean though...
 
heh im looking for a new one now on the interweb. I want something to take up my right shoulder and part of upper arm but its difficult! Will proberly pop into town tomorrow see what they got going. Right arm looks dull as it doesnt have a tattoo :P

I'm pretty sure it won't cost that much. My mate got an old school style winged skull right across the shoulder blades, totally filled with colour and some nifty time consuming shading. 3.5 hours later it cost just under £300. I got a design from another tattooist of a winged skull (a bit of a coincidence we got the same idea since I got mine first but they are VERY different) on my upper right arm which doesn't look massive but the shading took ages at it was so awkward for him to do purely because he was a perfectionist. That was nearly 4 hours and cost me £250.

Tribal tends to be cheaper due to the whole "draw the lines then colour them in black". And the spine is very painful!!! I say that as you'll expect hell and then when it happens you'll be pleasantly surprised. Seriously though, ouch.

Cool stuff! I've been wanting a tatt for as long as I can remember and that tribal does mean a lot to me as well :) - Something I won't regret either. So I'm going to have it done!

Last words from me before I go to bed! I don't see why anyone would regret a tattoo, especially if it meant something when they got it. It's like a story in your life scarred onto you and you remember it so vividly. I have 5 tattoos now and I remember where I got each one done, why and who I was with. I've got this shamrock for an Irish road trip which has terrible god awful colouring in it, it was done in a shop called "The house of pain" in Ballymena and I think he was drunk when he did it. Tattoos are stories for friends and parties and you can look back on them with fondness or pride. Even someone with a swastika could be proud to say they walked away from that life, or they could be proud to be a Nazi.

Just follow the motto "No regrets, just stories" and life is great.

Agreed. I got a tattoo 5 years ago when I turned 18 which I wouldn't get done now. However, I love it. Every time I see it I look back fondly to the days when I hadn't a care in the world. It's a bookmark in my life, a constant reminder of days gone by. Happier days. It's a conversation starter, an ice breaker, a story teller and an individual identity.

People look at it now and tell me that I must regret getting it. I tell them the opposite. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. :)
