Tax question

Update.

Gave my current temp employer (few weeks cover teaching) my P45.

Got a £250 tax rebate in my last pay...

Which is not enough. Possible it's just a rebate from the over paid tax with this employer due to being on BR rate. I'll wait for next weeks pay then call hmrc and check if no further refund comes through.

yes you can claim it back or wait till end of yr for a tax rebate .. .. end of yr would be better as you might get a job over the threshold .. ..

It's a joke isn't it, I'm a "mature" student studying at OU but my fees will "only" be 12k. Even at the standard rate I think I'll be paying something like 70 quid a month. I must be one of the few people that will actually pay it back:cry:.

The joke is tuition jumping from £3k per year to £9k per year instantly.

The real joke, is the kids scammed into votes for lib dem on the promises that tuition would not increase.
For it to then TRIPLE!
100%

Tbh 9k would be okay for a tier 1 university but not for an ex-food college.

I don't think 5% is fair but I do think it's unfair to compare to market rates. There isn't a product on the market that writes debt off after x number of years, isn't paid off with no salary (so gap years etc are possible still) and has no minimum payments.
