TCL Q7C model Mini LED

That TCL looks like a lot of TV for the money, even in the audio departement with 60W B&O. I went from a slightly larger difference being 50" to a 65" and it was very noticable (OLED was the cherry on top).

2048 dimming zones compared to Sony's 24 zones, far higher brightness etc. On paper it certainly seems like a good upgrade. Sony do produce a lovely image though. I would load up a USB stick with some downloaded 4k demo footage, play it on your Sony then pop into the store and pop the stick into the TCL and see if it's ok.

Incase anyone else see this, I went for TCL C8K 65 inch. Impressive piece of kit really pleased with it - highly recommended

Little bit late to this.

I think many people have this perception that certain brands are budget/worse than bigger names, and I think it's an oversimplification. TLC, Hisense and a few others do have some poo TV's don't get me wrong, but so do Samsung, Sony, LG etc.

Personally I feel that once you enter into mid range territory, companies like TLC and Hisense blow the bigger/more popular brands out of the water. At the higher end things shift a bit more for obvious reasons, even then there's fantastic options but people just flat out default to if OLED go LG etc when I'd argue there's on par or sometimes better for less money.

I've been very, very pleasantly surprised with full FALD TV's from the likes of TLC and Hisense for money that would struggle to buy you an edge lit from the go-to TV brands.

Really good choice, it's a fantastic TV and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Thanks it is a great TV, it was leap of faith in some ways. However all the reviews pointed towards that model and the one below.

Aye, no worries and apologies for the rant but it's so rare to see someone take that leap.

There's too much mindshare and odd opinion when it comes to the market, same with anything really but hey if it means I can get a better product for less money I'm happy.

It's not even like you need to worry about customer support or warranty as with TV's that's usually directly through the outlet you buy from anyway.
