Does anyone know how test drive unlimited performs on a 7300gt, and what a stable res would be with no fps drooping, around 30 fps is ok.

dont think there is a demo

Im running it on my 7600GS/GT card, i can run 1440x900 high settings and 2xAA and still returns a healthy 35+ in built up areas, and 45+ in countryside.

I reckon your card will do mid/high settings with AA switched off quite happily :)

what res you run btw?

Ben

World of warcraft runs at 1680x1050 sits on 30 fps with smooth shadows, AF/AA on full and i have punched it up with high poly rates, dont know if that makes a difference but i thought i would try it anyway.

Imo, wait for a patch for TDU, my mates 7600 seemed to cripple a while back when he had it.

Also my 8800 dies on 8xAA or above when any other game doesnt mind it.

The patch is going to fix performance issues, so it may be an idea to wait for that and see how it improves the game.

Im sure it would work though on lowest settings and a lower res

i couldnt possibly do that ^_^, 1440 is the minimum res i use now and only if it cant handle 1680.

i found that the game ran like a bag of spanners and crashed, corrupting my game unless i used the 91.31 drivers, then the game is perfect and glitch free :). Have a go at it with them.

all other games seem to run better too :D.....older drivers F T W

I reckon you card would handle it at a decent speed your res, just not with everything cranked up. my old 6800LE ran WOW slower than your 7300, and that was clocked to 400/900mhz and 12 pipes. you shouldnt underestimate the 7300gt....tis a great budget powerhouse :)

BTW willhub on these forums has trouble with his 8800 on TDU and has more slow down and frame drop on occasions than my 7600... especially with tyre smoke

aye smoke effects are a real choker for graphics cards, frames just wilt at any sign of a good smoke effect, i would probably put it on a low setting to get a playable framerate.

see tyre smoke has naff all effect to my frame rate, even if i burnout with my stupidly powerful stage3 viper......can spin round the car with no basically no difference, maybe 1 or 2 fps lol....good ol' 7 series ;)

Just hope the shiny new X1950GT OC waiting for me on my desk when i get home performs as well :)

my x1900xt ran the game not too bad at 1152x864 with all details at max using 2xAA and HDR on. in some places fps dipped down to around 25fps but majority of the time its over 40fps.

would deffo like a more faster gfx card for this game. but seeing as how it runs so well on the xbox it looks like the console is the best course of action for future gaming.

TDU is very poorly coded, it used to spank my SLI'd 512MB 7088GT's.

(1680x1050 with 2xAA, full everything).

shame that, its a fun game to play. stage 3 viper with no traction control is my favourite choice.

My friend and i got a mclaren F1 up to almost 270mph by slipstreaming...that was a lot of fun

My 7300GT DDR3 struggles on anything above 1024x768/medium detail - it's a real problem not taking advantage of SLI, and something I hope they fix in the patch.

Just rename the exe of TDU to 3Dmark06 & you'll have full SLI support ;) :D

Uh... OK. Thanks :). Surely that would be the equivalent to creating a profile for TDU in the nVidia control panel? I seem to recall trying that before without success.
