Hey,

Can anyone recommend some alternative types of Tea that are drinkable and don't taste horrible. The befits of green tea are nice for example, but it just tastes like grass. Maybe there are some infusions of it worth trying that make it more acceptable?

My limited list of nice tasting teas so far:

- English Breakfast (/any standard black tea) - good all rounder
- Assam - Bit stronger pretty nice
- Nettle & Peppermint - pretty awesome alternative to the black teas

I liked Red Rooibos Tea but it gave me headaches for some reason, so that had to go :(

Anyone tried any of the White teas?

I got sent a sample of Twinings Earl Gray and i have to admit i was a bit dubious of the smell at first but am now hooked. Lovely refreshing tea. Assam is another of my favourites.

Yorkshire Tea Gold blend is a good "ordinary" tea but quite strong.

Ye drinking the same Tea all the time is BORING. Try Lemon & Ginger, and Fennel Teas. Its nothing like tea really, but i like them - along with the other crazy stuff like earl gray - peppermint - green T - etc etc. :)

Green tea with mint is quite nice but to be honest the benefits of black tea are almost up there with green tea, as long as you don't load it up with sugar and milk :D

Have you tried Clipper organic/fairtrade teabags? Same price as PG Tips and Twinings Everyday but it has to be the best tasting teabag tea I've tasted :)

Tea in general is very good.

at the end of a hard day, you get home, bang the kettle on, brew some ISO-3103 and relax.

Ceylon, very nice, similar to assam
Nilgiri, very nice too
Kenya, quite strong flavour
Russian Caravan, one of my favourites
Earl Grey (I also have Earl Grey with vanilla which is very nice)
Lapsang Souchong, very smoky flavour, not for everyone

All black teas btw

I would recommend getting loose leaf teas rather than bags

Twinings Assam is now my standard cup of tea and I won't drink any of the normal brands of tea like PG Tips or Tetleys - they just have no real flavour in comparison. Tried an earl grey the other day (no milk or lemon) and found it quite nice, will have more in the future. Have untried Lady Grey in the cupboard, will give it a go soon.

Accidentally made the wife a cup of Lapsang Souchong this afternoon round her dads - weird tea, smells like creosote.

There's something about Twinings tea varieties which I dont really like, they seem to lack the flavour of the loose leaf teas I have from other sources
