Tea

I'm in equal parts mesmerised and horrified.

I'm in the market to up my tea game...

I fondly remember making tea in a massive pot at one of my older workplaces.

I'd like to get a tea-pot....I think two cups would be the perfect size.....What teapot do you recommend?

Also please share your variations on the brew.

Spasiba!

Personally I recommend Bodum teapots. The glass hasn't stained and have been using it for nearly 2 years now. I have the 2 cup and the 4 cup but find the 2 cup the perfect size and only whip out the 4 cup with guests.

Cheapest value tea possible. Usually around £1.00 for 80 bags....black. No milk, no sugar...yom yom....

Made in the cup!!!!

Eww, not just the black tea either. My sister in law used to buy Asda's cheapest T-bags for people who come visiting as they were all coffee drinkers. She made me a cup once and only once!! Asda smartprice T-bags are like dishwater, like they have already been used once, dried out and re-packaged for sale, yuck.

We used to do the black Tea thing (with a couple of extra sugars to take the bitterness away) down the Falklands because being stuck on a mountain top we used to run out of milk then UHT milk often as we could only get supply drops on fine days. As I was always down there in the height of their Winter we didn't get many fine days although when we did they were stunningly clear although very crisp.

We got our teapot from T2 which doesn't seem to exist anymore, so can't help there. But if you want a teapot/mug hybrid for the times you just want to make yourself a cup then this is a great option.

In terms of tea, we only drink Two Spoons

There us a bit of Lord Snooty in a few posts. Having worked on quite z few construction site when you get back to the cabin and boil the kettle, take a tea bag out of the cardboard box on the worktop add water, add sugar from the bag likewise on the worktop, sniff the milk, frown at the date add a splash. Sip and enjoy. It is equally done to leave the tea bag in until the dregs if you wish for a proper builders tea.
This is how to make and drink tea.
