have been at this lark now a few years, its brilliant having a crapmobile to leave lying up kerbs etc and generally driving the balls off.
had a 1.0 corsa that was bought for £300 with full MOT, drive it hard for 6 months and sold it for £450. Then it was onto the dti laguna (old reliable shape), took serious abuse, came with 6 months MOT, and walked the MOT with just a wash, bought for £550 and took another 6 months abuse and sold for £400. Zero maintenance on both cars. Lately its a mk3 tdci mondeo, bought last march for £1000, drove all year and MOT'd yesterday for £200 including parts/fees/test. So another year in it, near 2 years driving with luck for £200 that looks half good, does 45-50mpg, cd/rcl/ew/em/ac etc
Bargain motoring is where its at if you really dont care about cars. My brother has been abusing a 306 for 3 years now and all it required was a starter, bought for £500, walked MOT each year
