Teaching

Most teachers teach for exams and not knowledge. Don't be fooled by starry eyed grandeur.

The best teacher I had was someone who spent 20 years in industry then moved into teaching. He knew his subject like the back of his hand and could teach the syllubus while making it seem like he was completely on a tangent.

Bit of a thread bump but I'm also thinking of doing this. Created a thread but had no replies.
I would be going into high school to teach graphic comm/design. I just wasn't aware that I could do it with an HND and dropped the idea of becoming a teacher when I thought a more substantial uni degree was required.

I'm 25 so "still young" but don't know if rushing to apply for last places for this year is too soon, yet I don't want to still be in a job I hate come a years time and getting nowhere in what I want to do.

I really don't know what's holding me back, tried to talk to friends about it but they all seem a bit vague on the subject, not sure if I'm a bit rosey eyed about my school years having been blessed to have gone to a "private" school, where I'd want to return to for my career.
