How likely is it I can run the following settings:

DDR4-3200 “maxed” settings: tCL =12, tRCDW/R = 12, tRP = 12, tRAS = 28, tRC = 54, tWR = 12, tWCL = 9, tRFC = 224, tRTP = 8, tRDRDSCL = 2, tWRWRSCL = 2, ProcODT = 60Ω

or

DDR4-3466 “tuned” settings: tCL = 14, tRCDR/W = 14, tRP = 14, tRAS = 28, ProcODT = 60Ω, CR = 1T, GDM = Disabled, BGS = Disabled

According to AMD themselves these are the sweet spots for gaming, of course they didn't say what RAM they used :(

Thanks 8Pack, I will test 3200 at CAS12, 3466 @ cas14.

What do you think is the sweet spot? What would you aim for personally?

I haven't done any of this since 2011, still rocking my Sandybridge you see!

I'm a little bewildered, but eager to read a lot before ordering as I want to get this order right.

Hey guys, I'm looking at this Ram along with a 1600x and an Asus Prime X370-A.

I want to run cas 14 - noticed the ram doesnt support XMP profile? Will it run at cas 14 @ 3200 on this board? Anyone tried?

Thanks in advance :D

Why would it not support AMDs profile thingy?

If it doesn't I will just set it manually.

I took delivery of my ram, 1700, thiachi, This teamgroup RAM 3200@cas14, EVGA PSU, Samsung EVO 960 M2, Kraken x62 AIO and sexy looking Phantek Evolv Tempered Glass case.

I cannot wait to build it tommorrow/Monday.

I'm travelling back home today, so going to build it this afternoon. I had to travel 3 hours to pick up my cablemod delivery from my parents (and see their new puppy).

Now I just wanna jump in the car!

8PACK - ok after some more pocking in the bios I have my 1700 at 3800Mhz, 1.275v (might be able to get it lower with time)

Ram I now can boot into windows with 3466 14-14-14-31, Gear down mode off, BankGroupSwap off. 1.475v (first try, so may go lower?)

I just played a round in Player Unknown Battlegrounds and it was fine.

Where do I go from here? How do I test memory stablilty? I am praying I can keep these settings. Feeling a bit happier now.

I have the Asrock Taichi mainboard, I think for me all this has been a massive learning curve, I last built a PC in 2011 with the 2500k, 3 button presses in bios and I was 12 hour P95 stable, job done. This AM4 setup is very finerky to setup.

I think uping the volts have helped massively and using XMP properly and only changing those settings and not a mix of Advanced settings as I read today that bit of the BIOs is buggy.

8pack

My 3200 14 14 14 31 kit is fully memtest stable at stock.

Left memtest running on 3333 14 14 14 31 at 1.475 volt. It was over an hour in on second pass with no errors when I left for work.

Last night I tested it but left doc volt auto and I had one error after like 40 mins. I am assuming that the volt boost on soc will stablize it. Is this the likely issue? This morning I set it to 1.1v and it's gone further through the memtest without an error.

If it's stable what do I do next?

Do I try to reduce the volt and test each time?

I've currently set it to 14-14-14-33-58-T1

It got over an hour without error on memtest86. I stopped it as i wanted to Battlegrounds. Will run it overnight.

Would you suggest changing any secondary or tertiary settings?
