Team of the Season

----------------Cech

Rafael---Jagielka----Bassong---Baines

Hazard-----Mata-----Carrick----Bale

--------RVP--------Suarez

Couldn't really decide on centre-backs tbh.

Notable mentions- Michu, Zabaleta, Cazorla, Dawson, Ivanovic, Nastasic(looks quality!) Lambert, Benteke, Lloris, Fellaini.

EDIt- Actually, Ivanovic out, Bassong in!

is bassong any good? he was sporadic at spurs and has been the same of what i've seen of him since he left though this has been in drips and drabs.

Zabaleta--Ivanovic---Vertongen--Shaw
-------------Yaya Toure---Schniderlin-------------
-------Mata------Lambert------RVP-------
--------------------Michu--------------------

There I said it, Bale has about 3 good months a year, I like him, but he's not team of the year material, neither is Suarez (but that's because he goes down quicker than a Thai hooker). Everyone else represents what you want from a player, a good whole year, except maybe Michu but season 2 at Swansea will sort that one out but for now he's my man up top with 3 guys who can play in behind/head further forward in the best type of football.

I know nobody on here rates Hazard....I think he is class!

He TERRIFIED me when he came on at home to Chelsea, 15 mins of sitting on my hands and praying he wasn't going to do it... Aka amazing player!

------------------Guzan------------------
Zabaleta--Kompany---Vertonghen--Baines
-------------Yaya Toure---Dembele-------------
-------Mata------Suarez------Bale-------
--------------------RVP--------------------

now that ladies and gentleman. is the team of the season.

Nor are the 3 Southampton players you've chosen

Schneiderlin is statically the best midfielder in the league, highest number of tackles, interceptions and has also scored 4 goals, but mediocrity like Carrick or flat out bullying like Fellaini should be applauded instead as that's what football is all about.

Lambert > Suarez and Bale. True story.

Works for me :D (and more comical one man team jokes)

He's statistically the best because of the amount of tackles he's made? That's it that's all you've got?

EDIT: OMG and he isn't even in the top 4 of best midfield tacklers in the league either!! It gets even better!! :o

Slightly ridiculous formation :)
Wasn't overly happy with choices of Guzan, Vertonghen and Fellaini. Schneiderlin could maybe make a case to replace Fellaini.

*squints at the screen* are we suddenly now just deciding who's best on number of times they have turned up and had a tv pundit fawn over them?? Still don't see how Carrick gets in on this sort of list so I'm at a loss of what you're trying to achieve. :o

I'm trying for once and for all to get you to answer the burning question that's been on the tips of our tongues all season long... What on earth makes you think Southampton's players are as good as you say?

All season long we've had to put up with you (and I mean we've really had to put up with you) popping in and out ****ging all number of players off which would be fair enough if you then didn't come out with classic anecdotes like Southampton have the best central midfield partnership in the league.... I mean what the actual ****?! you can't seriously think a team that's been fighting relegation from day one have the best midfield partnership in the league? Seriously, tell me its all been just one big massive WUM?

Your argument only a few short posts ago is that Schneiderlin is statistically the best midfielder in the league because of how many tackles he's made... I mean what kind of logic did you use to come up with that? I wouldn't mind but your little stat ain't even freaking correct!!

Oh boy, I've been waiting for this. All. Season. Long.
