Teamgroup 2600 c10 2 x 4gb issues

Not wishing to sound ungrateful or anything, but XMP timings that are not stable is a bit of an issue when you're trying to get everything set up isn't it? It's at the very least somewhat misleading. TRAS is part of the xmp spec and it sets it to 31 so I expected 31 to be stable. I wasn't aware that the IMC had any impact at all on primary timings (hence why only primaries are set by XMP).

Anyway, muchas gracias for spending the time and posting the screens up...I'll have a play around with your posted timings over the weekend and see what happens. I'm still not totally convinced my kit isn't faulty, but at this point I'm really glad I didn't just send it back when the rma was authorised. Now I have some settings I know should work (and the sticks are finally responding to IMC and VTT voltage changes after swapping slots) I've a busy weekend ahead with this memory it seems!

Noted about MHz and not timings. I've actually got some decent BBSE and PSC sticks knocking about that I could test 2600 with, however i'm not convinced it would have any relevance given they have different IC density to the HCH9's.

And yeah using the rig is the main priority....I pulled out prime as it was the only stress test that was picking up errors consistent with my game crashes/freezes. Linx and 32m both run fine annoyingly, even at 4.6ghz cpu. That and my 24" DGM L-2442WD blew its power board on Monday night, and gaming at 1280x1024 just makes me angry lol :p

I last tried mine on P67...the max I had on air was 7-10-7 (PSC) or 8-9-8 (BBSE) @ 2300ish 1.85v-1.95v for benching. Never thought to try them 2400+ on Ivy...shame about 2600 though it would've been nice to see if it would post/boot at c8 or c9.

I'll give that a quick shot...saved my best 6 sticks when I shifted all my old benching gear so they should be plenty capable of at least a post. I still have a really good pair of hypers too, they were worth worthless on P67 and Sandy due to random BSODs benching, but if I'm digging out my 2gb sticks I may as well give them a quick tickle and they could always post really easily.

If I'm forced to use c10 or even c11 at 2600 then it would start to point things towards the IMC not reaching the timings rather than the new kit being faulty.

You should be able to tighten those subs quite a bit...he just hasn't tweaked anything down is all he's saying :).

Is it looking stable with those settings?

I've cracked mine....got 12 hours prime stable now.

This whole time I have been following the official ROG guide by Raja on the z77 M5F/M5E. In this guide it states that you should keep 2nd vccio voltage close to vccio. This is wrong.

As you know I was vccio testing last night. I tested at 1.1 vccsa and 1.15vccio (1.15 2nd vccio) and got 3.5 hours stable. I then tried 0.925vccsa and 1.2vccio (1.2 2nd vccio) and got just over an hour stable. Next move was to try 0.925v / 1.25vccio, but I forgot to change 2nd vccio...this was left at 1.2v. This failed after 30 mins, I went into bios and noticed 2nd vccio, set it to 1.25 and re-tested. This failed in 3 minutes. Interesting!

The next move was to set 2nd vccio to 1.05, leave vccio at 1.25 and vccsa at 0.925 and re-test. This is still running 12 hours later.

My next move will be to tune down vccio from 1.25v as that's a little high for my liking, but it looks like ive cracked it anyway. Tweaking will follow, ill keep this thread updated with progress.

Two golden rules for this kit on the M5F:

1). Swap slots around to find which stick likes which slot.
2). Leave 2nd vccio at default.

Thanks very much 8 Pack...you've been very helpful, I would've just sent the kit back if you hadn't stepped in to help :)

The offending section of the guide is below. Ignore it completely and leave it at or near default.

We have a winner...no tweaking of subs at all yet, still all auto beyond primaries. As its now behaving WAY more predictably with 2nd vccio at 1.05v Ive taken a break from prime ;).

32m 3.9ghz / 2600mhz 10-12-11-25-1T
1.67vddr / 1.05vccsa / 1.2 vccio / 1.05 2nd vccio

Please ignore the time, its not a benching OS and I moved and resized the window half way through :p

And prime... (see what I mean about my cpu temps? Thats custom watercooled with good contact and flow. Definitely needs the lid off! o.0 )

Untweaked....primaries mean very little for bandwidth. Still messing around to get stability. TRP 11 @ 2600 is hard...

Next reboot ill throw some tight subs at it and give you an aida shot.

So what's your AIDA bandwidth at 2400 dude? If you could post a tweakit shot as well I wouldn't mind a look at your timings to see if I can replicate them...

Looking through the various threads on XS in the bandwidth section and I've not seen a higher bandwidth screenshot yet...

Cheers!

Awesome, cheers :). Got 4 x 4gb HYK0 myself, but never got them working right on z77. They were good on P67 - 2200mhz 9-10-10 @ 1.58v, and now that I know about leaving 2nd vccio at default ill give them another shot.

Nice 32m time and cpu clock :)

Hard to say how much of that aida bandwidth could be down to haswell vs ivy. Id imagine some at least. My TRRSR setting could be equivalent to your TRDRD setting as its worth a lot of bandwidth. These HCH9 chips wont run TRRSR 4 for me at all, I tried right down to 2200mhz. Ive heard the HYK0 chips will run TRRSR 4 (but wont hit the 2600 divider).

I should have a stable and tweaked out 2600 profile by the weekend, so im hoping I can spend a day messing with my other sticks before I decide what's staying and what's going. These team sticks are definite keepers for me though :)
