Teamspeak or Ventrilo?

Used TS for over 3 years but when the new Vent came out it just dominated

Feature and quality wise, Vent wins hands down.

Teamspeak is awesome. Its simple and user friendly. Vent is also good but..... feels old, tacky and is annoying when people leave as the robot voice tells you. Apart from that the voice quality is excellent.

Either mate.... depends how much to host a server on TS or Vent... if similar price id say either... and make seperate chat rooms in the server and rent them out ;)

Have used both and Vent is better imo.

The licencing is slightly different for each.

You can run TS2 completely free, from your own box, with unlimited user slots.

Vent only allows you to run 8 user slots on the 'free' public version. If you require more than 8 slots, then you need to pay for it through a licenced host.

'TeamSpeak is FREE of charge for non-commercial use' so usually wins, but if someone else is paying for it...

Never had any problems with either codec & quality wise, vent has more options tho but small TS servers can be got for free and usually are given away by hosts, so a 20 man server would get you a 'free' 30 man TS.
Also vent has chat to voice which can be funny when your camping on eve on-line or something. ^&"£^%&^"5223g42

Ventrilo all the way, simpler interface (not necessarily easier), crystal clear quality, disableable DirectInput keybinds and TTS support.

Heard promising things for TS3 though, can't wait to try it out.

Vent quality is extremly good i love it but tbh i dont mind as long as the TS codec is high enough its good quality.

used both, like both but use ts purely because the server software allows for more than 8 without paying for the liscence.

Have been using ventrilo since 2003 and never had an issue. Good sound quality.

Tried TS back in 2003 and did not like it, but things may have improved.

I've use Teamspeak and have done for ages, but I've used Vent as well. Personally I prefer TS, one reason because we have a TS server :P but it's also a lot more simple. No other reason really, just my mate already had the TS so never felt the need to use something else. Sound quality seems fine to me though?
