tear lines 5770 via hdmi to flat screen

using version 2010.1125.2142.3886h of catalyst control center
running 720p @ 50hz
playing any videos used to be perfect but since i re-formatted and installed this new version its been a pain, any ideas anyone?

Screen tearing could be because you dont have V-sync on in games. Try turning V-sync on

its not on games, its when watching .avi files and it is now doing it on both screens, it never did this before i re-formatted and installed the latest catylyst control center

I found VLC and Windows Media Player produced heavy amounts of screen tearing on my old ATI 4770. Switching to Media Player Classic solved the problem. It can be downloaded as part of k-lite codec pack:

yeh its lookin to be a problem with vlc and windows media player, but classic works perfect, kinda annoying really

Could be your TV that sucks too not the card or some bad settings in CCC.

thats what im using now, already had it installed some vids work perfect on vlc and some dont

CyberLink PowerDVD 10 is very good these days it plays most of the formats fine too..

if i do that, my screen resizes itself to a lot smaller, and i cant change the resolution to my full display

iv managed to get it to 720p@60hz, no tear lines at all
