Just recently brought a new mobo , processor and a psu . Put it all together and ... nothing .. no light shows on the motherboard even when everythings plugged in , Im sure ive set all of the switches up correctly but something seems lifeless. Im guessing is the PSU as normally if you attach a live plug into the back it makes a crackling sound but theres nothing. When I first turned it on one of the LED lights flashes and the processor fan span once , its stopped doing that now. So any ideas anyone? Or should I be wrapping it back up to be replaced .

cheers any help appreicated!

darren :D

It does sound rather like the PSU, when you switch it on does the PSU fan spin at all? You can test the PSU on its own by attaching a fan or something for a small load and then "jump-starting" it by connecting the black to green pins (search the forum for diagrams if you are unsure). It could be a catastrophic failure of the motherboard but that is more unlikely. Also what is the PSU? It might be that you have overloaded it and that caused it to fail. :)

Just brought a new psu , same thing is happening .. nothing lifeless , tearing me hair out here lol. Dreading the mobo is dead was a nightmare fitting the cpu and fan !
