Tech Help please !

Just recently brought a new mobo , processor and a psu . Put it all together and ... nothing .. no light shows on the motherboard even when everythings plugged in , Im sure ive set all of the switches up correctly but something seems lifeless. Im guessing is the PSU as normally if you attach a live plug into the back it makes a crackling sound but theres nothing. When I first turned it on one of the LED lights flashes and the processor fan span once , its stopped doing that now. So any ideas anyone? Or should I be wrapping it back up to be replaced .

It does sound rather like the PSU, when you switch it on does the PSU fan spin at all? You can test the PSU on its own by attaching a fan or something for a small load and then "jump-starting" it by connecting the black to green pins (search the forum for diagrams if you are unsure). It could be a catastrophic failure of the motherboard but that is more unlikely. Also what is the PSU? It might be that you have overloaded it and that caused it to fail.

Just brought a new psu , same thing is happening .. nothing lifeless , tearing me hair out here lol. Dreading the mobo is dead was a nightmare fitting the cpu and fan !
