Alright guys, i was pretty certain there was a section for tech issues but ive been looking around can't find it. I'm posting here sorry if its in the wrong place but im wanting to know what the issue is to replace if needed ASAP.

So, the problem - about 5 days ago i bought a new webcam; "Logitech C910 HD 1080p Pro 10 Megapixel Webcam" It has been running perfectly fine up to today, apart from the fact when i spin the cam around fast or move it quickly it cuts out.

So today randomly my logitech g930 headset cut out aswell as my new webcam at the same time, i reset my computer and it was still not working so i started messing around with the usb's putting the cam in by its self without the headset, vice versa, the headset works on its own but the webcam wont.

I have the headset running with my old webcam in the same USB port that my new webcam was plugged into since then ive tried to plug the new one back in and it simply cuts both the webcam and headset off.

The webcam ive plugged in and installed on to my laptop and its working fine.

I'm not really sure whats wrong i have a feeling it may be that the new webcam has just pushed my PSU too far, im currently running on a 650w with a gtx 580 and 8 gig ram knowing it was cutting it real close when i bought it im just wondering if this has pushed it across the edge.

Any thoughts?

I doubt the webcam would push the PSU too far tbh. What PSU is it (make/model)?
Also what motherboard do you have? I believe people with some ASUS motherboards have been having trouble with their USB ports.

MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 (socket 1155)
Antec TruePower New Modular 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155

Added the processor there aswell, im really confused what else could be causing the issue in that case unless it is a fault with the mobo.. but its not like the usb ports wont work, its specificly that webcam when i put it in the headset turns off, the webcam and headset are both logitech (dont think that matters but yea).

That PSU is plenty for your set up don't worry, a great PSU choice!
Yeah I suspect it's a problem with the motherboard or something. Is there any PC you can try it in?

Yea ive had it running on another PC and another laptop; could it really be the motherboard I mean, the USB port still works i have my old webcam plugged in there right now and its working fine but asoon as i plug in the new one thats when they cut out.

Cheers for replys btw,

Could be a driver issue of some sort. Unplug them, uninstall them (Device manage I think), the plug them in and do a fresh install of the drives.

No problem

Hey, just to let you know i just unistalled the driver for the webcam and plugged it in, and now its working without even having the drivers. Now in the process of installing the drivers and hopefully it will stay stable!

Thanks a lot for your help, No idea why i never tried this yesterday -thumps head-

lol. Cool. BTW if installing the drivers causes a problem, uninstall again and just let windows install it's drivers like it's seem it did. If that makes sense!?

Bringing my thread back from the dead; So a few days ago the webcam started cutting out again at the same time also making my headset un-useable. So for the past few days ive been using my old when cam then got insanly annoyed at the fact i spent money on this junk and cant get it to work.

So i got in contact with logitech support today, and they pretty much told me its nothing to do with the webcam and its probably a mobo issue. After rebooting my computer with NOTHING at all on the start up, my webcam gets detected and was running, when I say it was it was untill i decided to pick it up and rotate it to make sure it would not crash (and it did) at the same time i lost my USB ports like usual, only this time my keyboard, headset, and webcam decided not to work, to get them to work again all i had to do was simply remove the webcam and they all start working minus the webcam.. got the issue again when i plug in my webcam and im losing my headset.

This is insane, at this point i have so many mixed feelings on what to do, screw the webcam send it back get a refund (if i can.. dont know) or actually spend time being stressed to my eyes about this and try and sort it.

I get this with a couple of my USB's but swapping them about sorted the issue out, I have 6 USB's in all & use them all bar one, Don't ask me why certain peripherals are favoured by certain USB sockets as I am confuse but confused with no issues any more. :p

right now, its plugged into 1 of the 2 USB's at the front and it wont work at all the system wont even pick up there is a webcam plugged in, the usb ports work my old webcam works fine in any of my ports, the webcam also wont be detected if i plug it in 2 of the USB3 ports in the back of my system, but asoon as i plug it into the motherboards USB ports, 1 or 2 of my peripherals stop working, im afraid the mobo is screwed.. would be a real bummer - how ever i do have its own OC function on all the time and tbh my computer pretty much runs 24/7 :/
