Thinking of going underwater to cool my 4790k, while checking out countless reviews for AIO CLCs saw this bundle:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-082-TL&groupid=962&catid=1532

Being the first time I'm venturing this far into the subject - always cooled on air in the past, thought I'd ask whether the above represents good competition for the likes of the Nepton 240, Fractal's new S24 and Swiftech H220-X?

I only ask as those three were my quiet shortlist, would rather not hear the pump or fans..

Case is Fractal R4 if it helps, cheers

2 Things.

1. the larger XSPC 750 was very loud so I would look for some reviews of this smaller 420 before choosing.
2. Do you intend to add a GPU later or are you going to stick with just the CPU?

cheers

That was my main area of concern re noise, I've seen it claimed that the 420 is quieter but only by XSPC blurb so pinch of salt given that specs state "Noise level: 35dBA"
Struggling to find any reviews though.

I was planning on sticking with just CPU (for now) - am running a Strix 980 so no real worries there currently, if I decide to SLI at any point then it might become relevant..

Am still leaning towards the H220-X I think, unless something else pops up that I haven't though about that's better/quieter/cheaper and doesn't mean I need a new case :D

Thanks

So I've been reading reviews most of the day and am torn between the Swiftech and the Nepton..
Nepton for bang for buck and Swiftech for expandability..
The Swiftech is a pain to get hold of and subsequently more expensive but is it better than the Nepton (if you take the expandability out of the equation) ??

The nepton and swiftech would be very close in performance as both use a thin 240mm radiator. I would probably pick the nepton if you are happy to forgo the expandability which, imo, isn't very useful as you would have to pour quite a bit of money in at which point you might as well make a custom loop.

I'm running the 420 in my case, you can hear the pump whirring but I wouldn't consider it loud by any sense of the word.

Rich

Yeah I am leaning towards the Nepton, the Swiftech is good but is it twice as good as its nearly twice the cost of the Nepton?
Or should I be looking at a bigger case (Fractal R5) as this would give me more choice?

Cheers
