Never heard of them. But they say they are the leader in drilling software solutions? That implies they know a thing or two about software... Anyone who tells me they know about software and then has a website like that would get severely laughed at :) And yes I know not all software is web/net related but it is in the same ballpark.

So your local car mechanic can fix a Jet aircraft then?;)

Programmers who might be gods with one type of software may not have the time/inclination/reason to know another type (especially if they specialise in a particular language for industrial use), besides which the guys who write the drilling programmes etc probably don't have anything to do with the website.

Well yes obviously (and considering a car mechanic to be in the same industry as a jet engineer is really stretching the point a little too far to make a point). But they would know when their website sucks. I'm a software developer. Nothing to do with web/internet. But I would certainly know when my website sucked. And so would ANYONE I work with and ANYONE I know who is in the industry too. Any developer should have a basic understanding of usability and of their customers needs (even those who develop back end systems with no visible front end).
