Technology in the future?

In terms of PC .

I think 1tb RAM will come out and 20tb+ solid state drives. I also hope for fanless chips and self cooling cases that don't need water cooling they just self regulate their own temps.

I think when ram goes to 1tb it will change the way computers are designed and a lot of stuff will sit in ram, rather than the disks improving performance.

I bought a 500GB SSD for £120 a few weeks ago, in 15 years 20TB is going to be nothing (15 years ago we had a computer with a 2GB HDD in...), I'm guessing we will be nearer consumer priced 1PB SSDs (according to Moore's law anyway).

As for fabless chips and self cooling cases I already have a completely silent PC with no moving parts. It's got 16GB of RAM (32 if I wanted, but don't need it), Two SSDs and a full power desktop grade i5. It's inside a Streacom FC8 evo, which is significantly smaller than most people's wind powered desktops... The only 'negative' is the fact it doesn't have a high powered GFX card, because I don't need one. There are passive GFX cards around but they aren't the most powerful.

You need to think bigger! 15 years, not 5 years. ;)

:(

The sixth great extinction.

You're probably right there, we've already wiped out 50% of what we had in 50 years!

The first commercially viable nuclear fusion plant should be running by then and an actual commercial reactor should be in the process of being built. Clean, plentiful energy for all!

Hardly a fair comparison. This was around in 2000.

True, I have clear memories sitting in my garden, playing Warcraft 2 and Age of Empires 2 on a laptop, and I was in South Africa at the time.

jetpacks, we want jetpacks

There was another video somewhere that I can't find, a person was flying with small wings and no parachute!

Edit: here we go the jetman :D

3D Printers will be standard like regular printers in most houses. Why buy something when you can print it for less. Not currently possibly but will be in the future I imagine.

Powerful processors will commonly be found in housing appliances, fashion items, even credit cards.

VR headsets will be an important % of the gaming market.

PC gaming graphics will be close to photorealistic quality.

Mouse + keyb will start to be replaced by another set of tools (not so sure about this one).

Bionic limbs with high functionality.

A breakthrough in the field of alternative energy production.
