Just wondering .. has anyone here ever had wisdom teeth out and did it hurt much afterwards?

Yes and it did not really hurt at all. Mine were very easy to extract though, it took the dentist about 5 minutes to remove both of them.

I had to have them out with surgery because they were impacted.

It hurt. Lots.

That's what I expected .. were you awake for it? the sound of drilling goes right through me.

Got two of mine out a few months ago as they were giving me a lot of pain.

Didnt hurt afterwards.

I had all 4 out in one go, no pain at all... although the nurse was quite surprised by this.

I had day-surgery as they had to knock me out to get to them. It's not so much 'oh my god I've been stabbed pain', but a constant 'stop stabbing me' pain.

Yes, contact your dentist. You are obviously not wise enough. Ask to get at least 1 put in.

on a more serious note, i noticed my wisdom teeth were becoming to be painful when I had my tonsillectomy, they are growing out weird which is guess is the normal. I'm not in any pain since my recovery but i've got a checkup with the dentist early January. Havnt been to a dentist for like 4 years. Hope there isnt any other problems.

My brother recently had 2 of his wisdom teeth out, the nhs botched it up. He was going in for all of them out but they only took the 1 side out. He was in a lot of pain.

I'm sure the constant pain of having problematic wisdom teeth are worse than having the relatively short recovery time pain.

my bottom two were both horizontally impacted, so they had to be 'verticalised' before my dentist could remove them.

it was easily the most painful thing i have had to endure as she did it there and then in the chair

Had mine removed about 15yrs ago whilst int he army and had to go to a dental hospital to have them removed. I dont really recalling it hurting at all, perhaps a little uncomfortable but not really painful.

No, was under general as one was impacted and so they had to shift other teeth about or something, not like when I had some other teeth removed for a brace fitting where my Dentist ended up kneeling on my chest with a pair of pliers

I had all four of mine out at once under general anesthetic and I was kept in hospital overnight and It hurt like hell for a day or two and my face swelled up like a melon as well. I did have badly impacted wisdom teeth though, might not be so bad for someone else.

Im hopeing to not have to be awake for it ... I think my main issue is I have to many teeth so there's not enough space and its become impacted, I was on 2 different types of antibiotics within the space of 3 months second lot were stronger due to pain and when i went the second time i was also reffered to have the teeth out. Im going in this week for it
