To be honest, both look as good as i'll get for a gaming tv but I just wanted to know if anyone might spot anything in the tech specs that might make one of the tvs slightly better than the other?

The W7 seems just as good but is cheaper than W8.

I hope these new model led tvs let you disable that smooth motion which makes films look like Home & Away or Neighbours (soap opera effect). Looks so weird to me with anything that is not animated.

Hi,
The w7 is better. Passive 3d on the w8 will mean you can spot scanline effects on 2d images. The reds are also much better on the w7. Both tv's have no motion interpolation options anyway. LED motion option is for backlight scanning with a heavy drop in light output. On my w6 42" using LED motion it was brighter than these two screens though and on 60fps games it gave full motion resolution of 1080 lines. Go with the w7 out of the two.
