Tell me about mk1 MR2s

Hows yours running?

Good thanks. Found a bolt had come out of the gearbox, the reverse shaft retaining bolt! Managed to get one ordered up from mr. T and got it back in this morning. No thanks to mr T though, they couldn't find it on the diagram of a mk2 that they were looking at, though I told them a couple of times it was a mk1.

All sorted now. Got some new bushes on the way from the states which should tighten up the handling nicely, then it's time for lower springs and some KYB shocks :) Then, when funds allow, a new exhaust which will be needed for the next MOT and an indution kit to make the most out of the TVIS roar!

Zip, That V8 involves lots and lots of work to fit.

I know, there is a guy on TB thats doing one and nothing fits each other so he has to customise a lot.

But some how i could see penski doing it :o

Yeah, both mine and Phils have the induction kit and it does make a difference :)

That one on Pistonheads is in lovely condition, and you could always take the graphics off cos they look a bit poo.

Is there anything he hasnt done? :p Only he would be mad enough to try and make the mk1 into a soft top.

Vix, I accually like the graphics.

I doubt I could teach you or Phil much about Mk1 MR2.

I love them though. Could the whine be the altenator bearings?

I thought the water collects in the grill on the engine cover and then drips onto the altenator? Something like that anyway.
