Tell me that my life isn't over

Reading this thread has made me very glad I didn't cancel the free private healthcare that my company gives (I was tempted to take a 200 a month refund instead).

Get better soon.

Even laurent blanc played for the biggest club in the world with no pace or movement. So no life isn't over.

And johnny Evans won a cl medal so in theory it doesn't matter how bad or how slow you are, you can be successful.

If it makes you feel better I tore my meniscus and fully ruptured my ACL about 5 years ago. For 6 months following the op I had physio once or twice a week. 8 months post op I was (tentatively) back to playing 11 a side football. Since then I've ran the London marathon, a few half marathons, mud runs, back to full health.

It will take more than a year to get back to your old self but you will get there I'm sure. Just take your time and you should be fine. Don't rush anything.

If it's anything to you my surgeon was an ACL specialist, apparently he deals with some of the professional footballers that do it. Lovely chap too, his name was roger wade, based at UHNS.

Feel free to trust me if you want to know any more mate. Chin up :)

Aye, nice bloke.

I had to stop playing football in 1985 when I was 27 but mine wasn't an injury through football.
I was doing a roundhouse kick in a karate session and forgot to turn my back foot which resulted in cartilages busting.
I was a really good local pub team footballer at the time but I got over it however that was 1985 and ortho specialists are way better now.
