temp on I5?

Oced it to 4.5ghz - 45x100.
stock volts - according to CPU-Z in prime it varies between 0.9-1.3v while running prime blend.

Temps reach low 80s on occasion - is this safe!? rest of time vary between 55-75c.

Seems stable though.

Looked on net and Intel say 72c but somewhere else says thermal throttling at 95? So it's good until 95?

Sounds a bit warm to me! What cooling is on it, and what kind of airflow through the case?

No fans bar an Artic cooler 7 which is set to blow out the back and an XFX PSU.

Idles around 25-30c just fine... weird.

For that cooler at those volts those temps sound fine. Temps may differ from others with the same cooler etc but that can be put down to ambient room temperature.

Yes thats correct, throttles at 95. So 80c is fine, it isn't like it will reach that temp during normal operation, gaming etc.

For that cooler the temps sound about right.

At 4.5GHz you could manually tune the voltage down to reduce temps, just test with Prime95 and something like LinX.
