what the best to use ?
i have realtemp and coretemp
core temp is giving me a 6-8 degree higher reading than real temp, im confused.
im sure you need to get the right temp when monitoring so i dont want to screw this up

So was I the first time I installed both Coretemp and realTemp. then I noticed that the Tjunction was set differently in both programs. Changed the Tjunction setting in RealTemp, and they match perfectly now.

On a side note, I also have PC Probe II and that shows way different temps, but then, I remember this peice of software from my i955x P5-WD2 days with my Pentium 805D chip, and its been broken since then!

Speedfan is good if you want to read system and hard drive temps as well. To get the same cpu reading as coretemp and realtemp you have to change the default tjunction however.

so what should i do, change the lower temp or the higher temp ?
i need to know really the exact temp, im guessing change the lower to match the higher
whats a reasonable load temp for the E8500
with coretemp im idle @ 35 and 40 degrees
