Hi all
I have a Samsung spinpoint SP2403C and i suspect it's starting to play up. Firstly, it has caused a number of 'Run CHKDSK /F' BSODs in Windows, and even an FSCK error 3 in linux. Secondly, it runs at an average of 36 odd degrees even under no load. This seems quite hot to me, as my friend, who has the same HDD, has his running at 24 degrees without a fan, and i have a 120mm fan in front of mine.
Does this overload in temperature mean that the drive could be on its way out, or is it nothing to worry about? Also, will OCUK/Samsung accept an RMA purely because a drive is running at a higher then normal temperature?
Thanks in advance
