Hello,

I just bought this motherboard (asus z97-k) and I'm getting this reading in the picture below. But I don't know where the sensors are, and I cant feel that much heat coming from anywhere.

It's this temperature as soon as i turn the computer on, and doesnt really change. I've had the computer on for a few hours at a time, and nothing bad has happened. So I'm guessing its a bad sensor?

Is there anything I can do to fix this? And if I just leave it,will everything be ok?

Also, no other software I got with my parts shows 4 different temperatures, so its kinda confusing. this screenshot is from the software I got with the Kraken x61

Thanks

I have the same motherboard and get a similar temp of 118 displayed in HWMonitor. Been like that since September when I bought it and fitted it.

Although today when I switched my PC on I also got a "Secure Boot Violation" message but the PC still runs OK when I get into Windows.

Seems like a dodgy sensor, nothing should be that hot even the VRM modules that are rated for those temps rarely reach it under normal loads.

So it doesn't seem like something you can fix.

Welcome to the forums :)

False reading...had them on almost all my boards.

Speedfan tells me one sensor is at minus 126c just now on present board lol :)

If it was a true reading it would rise and fall dramatically under load/idle...2c variance says its just a false reading so dont worry about it :)

Its not a dodgy sensor, it's just doesn't have a sensor there at all. Software is falsely trying to pick up something that isn't there.
