Temperature problems

So, I finally set up my waterloop. The blocks for the cards that I ordered didn't fit due to not researching properly so I've stuck the CPU in it for now and ordered new blocks for the cards.

Problem is, no matter how high or low I turn up the fans or pump on the loop the temperature stays the same, surely if the the water is moving faster and the fans are blowing a lot more air through the radiators the temperatures would get lower, I'm going to try remounting the CPU block to see if that makes a difference but I was wondering if anyone else had the same kind of problem?

I've left the fans and pump on different speeds for a couple of hours as obviously it's not going to be an instantaneous heat dissipation, but it all seems a bit fishy to me.

In that case, I would say Idle seems bit high and load is just about right but can be lower.
What sort of volts for the cpu?

EDIT:
what is the spec of your loop? I just read that the GPUs are not connected?

1.280 @ 4.2 Highest I could get it on air without too much tweaking because I was lazy. Not changed it yet, waiting for the graphics cards to go under water.

Might be the thermal paste to be honest, I used the stuff that came with the Raystorm which was just a small tube of XSPC K2. I'll have to try and dig out my MX-4.

what water temp are you getting?

I have the same block as you and on a 3930k and water temp at 23-24C I get idle temps of 29-32C

oh, also, are you using set voltage or offset overclocking?
set voltage will idle slightly higher than offset

the block has the biggest impact on temps - pump speed will only give you a decrease if the slower speed means you drop below an adequate level of flow, with only a CPU block in the loop you probably have adequate flow on any setting... similarly, fan speed will only affect temps if you are under-specced rad wise - with 4 fans worth on only 1 CPU, again, even on minimum you are probably running a water temp very close to ambient, so increasing fan speed won't make much if any difference
