Temporary GPU for CS:GO

I plan to sell my 980ti (and some other things) to fund summer holidays and to buy some nice GPU after the summer (1080ti?) in the meantime, I'd like to keep my computer running so I need a basic GPU that could handle CS:GO at 100+ fps 1024x768 and that's it.
What's the cheapest thing right now, perhaps 2nd hand?
DO you think it makes sense to do that (sell 980ti now an buy 2nd card) vs just selling 980ti after the summer?

You sell your gpu for £220 less postage and maybe grab a gtx 670 for £50 leaves you £150 is that enough or worth the hassle.

That's why I still have it as a spare

For csgo pretty much anything will do.

Honestly by the time you've sold 980 Ti for say £230 and then bought a 670 or something similar for £50 or so you've got £180 is the hassle/huge downgrade/only £180 really worth it?

Don't do it, just keep your 980ti until you decide to get a 1080ti. What's £180 going to fund you? Not much these days!

i used 680 when i sold 980ti and was waiting for 1080gtx , was handling fine at low settings who plays on high anyway in cs 1440 p , so anything 7950 and 670 and so on should be fine

edit: for 1024x768 u can use evel lower end cards 660 and lower

660ti rocking CS:Go at 1440p - max settings 150-300fps, and min settings 200-400. Can grab one of these at 50-65 pounds. Great spare card.

Yeah, I guess I'll just 'live' with my trusty 980ti, it's doubtful that it will drop more than another 50 that a spare card would cost and the hassle is real.

I used to use a Radeon HD 5830 1gb before I got my 390. It wasn't a bad card and done ok with csgo but this was at 1080p

I still have it sitting in my 390 box as a spare lol

Not quite. There's give or take 30% in it.
OP a 460 would handle it no problem or something like a second hand 6850/gtx 660 or anything in that range should cruise it too.

you sure about that all the comparisons im looking at in games there isnt a 30% gap
