Temporary Sub forums?

Yes. If you post a problem you're having, and every single post about BF3 is in one thread, unless one of the next few posters knows the answer, you're probably not going to get help. Your post will be lost forever.

If people are gleefully posting away in a thread without bothering to read back to where they last read, I hardly think the solution is to let everyone spam the board with thread after thread.

On most message boards I visit, there seems to be at most two or three threads for the biggest games. Maybe a main discussion thread, a spoiler-free discussion thread, and an everything else thread. I guess I'm OK with that. But come on, take a look at the PC Games forum right here for a minute - do you really think that isn't utterly ridiculous?

Amazing how we manage it for nearly every other game then isn't it?

Well, no. The BF3 thread has gained about 500 posts since I last checked it yesterday night.

I don't know about you, but I'm not going to read the last 500 posts, I've got other stuff to do. I think most other people will be the same. The most I'm going to read is the last 2 pages. Making a new thread has more chance of an answer.

It is, but I think having a sub-forum for it is a good idea. Maybe try the way you suggested, either way there's going to be loads more threads about the game.

Maybe condense to a few threads like

Battlefield - Gameplay
Battlefield - Technical Issues
Battlefield - Multiplayer/Servers.

I have no interest in BF3 but the amount of the threads showing up are hardly causing my eyes to bleed.

Is it really *that* big a deal?

Looks at sig and *sighs*, but you're right it's not a big deal see the letters bf3 ignore thread.

I have no interest in Realistic Shooter #347, but I don't particularly care about the amount of threads about it either, just scroll past them.

Just merge all threads.
I also blame all the users tho, dunno why everyone thinks that they have to make a new thread for everything ...

If you have a technical issue, the main thread is WAY too big for you to get your post awnsered because theres just so many people posting in it, it takes about 15 mins before your post is 2 pages back :( Ill make a technical help thread when i get home, if its ok with the mods :)
Will keep the op updated with mains issues and stuff as well when i have time :)

What about a pc gaming help thread? a seperate thread devoted for people who are having trouble for PC games in general, and another thread for official topics about certain game and news about general pc gaming.
