Mobs now spike attack with much more efficieny and target recently ressed players.....It's hell out there

Do you need the original Guild Wars to play this, or can you just buy Guild Wars Factions and start from there ?

No - You only need 1.

I bought factions yesterday, and I think it's great, really getting into it. Although i'm a bit puzzled as to why sometimes when i launch the client i get a little lightening icon (?) in the top right of the window and it's downloading content. Are these updates to the world etc ? As I've not seen any news on updates that are being released...

Many smaller updates inbetween the main ones.
But painless, just leave at login screen for a minute.

You need both to access both continents but can play each one seperately.

Ahh i get it now
so each one is its own map area - or something like that ?
And you need to own/install each one to access that area.

Yep

If you have both you can take characters across to both continents, this is why Cantha (Factions) gets tricky very quickly, lots of maxxed out characters head out there straight away!

Strange, the last time i left it doing that it downloaded aroud 45MB of updates and was still going...but yesterday evening i was able to play it fine without it downloading anything else.
