tempted by the elite

in that context, its a good deal. £130 for a 120gb drive though, jeeeesus H Christ on a bike. that isnt cheap at at all. £130 gets you a 300gb 2.5" sata drive. or a 750gb 3.5" drive

Im talking about you're better off getting it with the elite rather than having to pay the arse raping price it is as a stand alone. Elites only £50 more than the premium so you're essentially getting that hard drive for that extra £50 plus hdmi, which imo doesn't matter that much.

Dont you get like three games with the premium though?

I never got any games with mine when i bought it, was some offer where any of these games cost £20. Im sure some stores will be doing bundle deals though.

why dont they just release a hdd kit you can slot your own hard drive into ?

to OP

why do you want the extra HD space and why do you need the hdmi slot . id just keep your premium till the elite features are more useful and theyre a wee bit cheaper :)

I'm in the same kind of situation - my stepbrother has a 360 premium that I play on, but I'd like to buy one to take to uni with me. I can get a 360 premium for £250, and the Elite is £320. Not sure I can justify the extra £70 - can't think what I'd use the extra 100gb hard drive space for! I hear they have a new heatsink, and the processor->gpu connections are a bit better too? Unless that's been implemented across the board, which I'd presume so.

If they let you use your own drive that easily , then they could not charge ridiculous prices for their ones. How ever with a bit of messing round you can use a western digital laptop drive if you want.

Probably want control over it all, so people buy their own special hard drives probably making it harder to mod I suppose.

Damn outrageous prices though.
