I have a neighbour who’s looking at adding Mesh WiFi systems to his main house and his barn conversion and he has his eye on two of these : Tenda MW12-3 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System

Are these any good and what’s the best way to add wide area outdoor coverage to such a system?

Alas, cabling is a non-starter as his buildings are old stone ones with foot thick walls. Luckily, the floors are wooden, so radio links between floors are good.

Previously, he’s used one wireless router as a WAP and a couple of range extenders which get good coverage, but devices are always hunting between the 3 different SSIDs/WLANs.

Drill bits come in lengths suitable to go through foot long stone walls, it’s a mains drill job rather than a cordless, but it’s not difficult.
