That time of year again to buy another tent only needs to last two festivals and newquay. But needs to be waterproof and durable.

But is there any really fast easy pitch ones, other then the round pop up ones as they are to big to carry on the back of a bike.

Our Tesco's were selling "3 man" dome tents for £8. Quite big and are good at keeping water out (hour and half of torrential rain so me n the kids waited it out [not fun :(])

My local FAS has a sale on at the minute. Have a nip round and see if there's one at yours. These specialise in proper, army-grade tents, not cheap pink and purple tat that rips and stays sodding wet for weeks after being in the rain.

Does anyone know where that big army surplus store is on the outskirts of Gloucester, if I remember it's on an industrial estate?

LOADS of people had pop-up Quecha tents at Benicassim. They were awesome.

Shame I can't read your post though, d'oh!

Hmm, my old man sells these (french/dutch 2/3 man tents), not sure I'd want one on the back of a (motor)bike. They have wooden poles and are made of a heavy canvas material. Durable as hell, but heavier than dome tents.

Nah, nah. They generally sale all types of tents these days.

I just had the exact same requirement a tent that will easily fit on the back of my bike. In the end the only option i found was a Vango Alpha 200. (2.6KG) and the pack size is nice and small!.

Alpha%20200

Cost me under £30

I havnt used it yet but i have errected it. Being a complete noob camper camping twice in my life at T in the park it would take me around 15 minutes.

Hey guys any chance anyone knows what a EuroHike Expedition 652 rucksack capacity is?
It's been going strong for 10(probably more) years and is still great but I want something bigger.

Surly it has to be more than a 52 litre. Assuming they stick the capacity in the name. Google is failing me.

65 litre is a common size. Quite big as rucksacks go.

yeah it is quite big, seen a few 80-100 but most lack the straps on the outside. Which is what I use to strap the tent and roll matt to.

I need more beer room.. ALthough the other year I put so much in it I stumbbled and could do nothing but fall backwards and couldn't even get up with help :o.... Had to take it of and put it back on.
