Why is it showing like this?

What? Never even been with AOL. I'm confused.

Oops, it's under sharing in sys prefs

Try changing it there to what you want and then type hostname and enter on terminal.

Try logging off and back on - may need it for your profile to take effect

Just did a reboot, now shows:

it needs to be under 15 characters long, also turn off all sharing before changing.

Unless the machine is on a network and you need it to be correct for remote login.. I wouldn't worry.

Cheers. I've just called it Mac. The machine travels with me as I'm always away from home with work. I never had a need to connect to it. I'm just confused as to why that original name was there.
