Terrorist attack in Mumbai

Surprised no-one has commented on this. Sounds very bad, gunmen firing indiscriminately into crowds, taking hostages in hotels and singling out those with UK and US passports. Sounds like something out of 24 and bears all the hallmarks of Al-Queda

I don't have much confidence in the Indian police to sort out this either. The death toll looks as though it will be very large...

Watching it on sky news now, sounds like a bloodbath, and they have killed India's anti terror commander.

80 dead 250 injured at the moment.

Sickening attack! I just can't understand that people can go into a hotel and open fire on innocent people. I've stayed at a couple of the hotels that were attacked in the past

Apparently there's quite a few still holed up in some hotels with hostages. Let's just hope they don't start beheading British & US passport holders like this scum has a tendency to do.

IIRC India has the highest rate of terrorist attacks this year (bar Iraq or Afghanistan)

we are off to India in 2009 volunteering . . .

We have organised everything ourselves - hope we will be ok - we are travelling to pretty much the middle of nowhere and then off to Mumbai for a couple of days before coming home - have been there many many times before - its an amazing place!

Spoilt by only a few very disturbed people.

Better get a decent police/special force in there and show them that they cant target US/UK citizens! Really annoys me that they get away with this cos we are so worried about causing some upset. Protect our own 1st then deal with the consequences after!
