Test Drive thread

I dont understand, you say in your 'what car do you drive' thread you dont have time to test drive M5's and E500's to see if you want to buy one of those next or a Ford Mondeo, but you do have time to book test drives in Skodas? How strange.

Car overall was good, unfortunatley not that great, or maybe it was me, I found it difficult to get comfortable.

The quality of the interior was good, the car had lots of features, I don't understand the point in the boot, that is something to go wrong.

The engine seems powerful enough but that DSG box isn't too good, the changes are amazingly quick, just tap the gear lever and it takes a fraction of a second, however I found it difficult to get the car to move quickly, it wouldn't change the gear unless you used kickdown, which was frustrating, but I guess you can get used to it.

I think this car really needs a 6cyl diesel with a bit more oomph for it to be successful, but then it would be treading on Audis toes, which is something VAG don't want, I assume.

The second car was a Subaru Legacy Outback, estate.

I was impressed by this, the gearbox and engine were excellent, the engine sounded good and was smooth and refined, the interior was merely average a couple of bits of cheap plastic, silver buttons looked cheap too.
I didn't get a chance to drive it much though, but I was impressed by it initially.

It certainly isn't worth its new price tag of 24k, but used I am sure it will be a good deal.
