hmmmm, can't make my mind up about this game now.

Sure it's great fun racing people but I can't see what else this game has to offer. I can just see it getting a tad on the boring side.

Getting your collection of cars & bikes up, getting all the achievements, remember the Island is much more massive then the demo we are talking about 1000 miles of road.

Challenges to do to win money, buying 64 houses, let me just tell you magazine reviewer who on Atari forum played 75 hours and was only 18% complete. :)

Hitchhiker missions, and taking rich businessman cars to places if you crash the money goes down you get at end. :D

I seriously consider reading latest previews and get this magazine that has a review. http://www.360magazine.co.uk/x360/flashindex.html

There are some plonkers but ive had a few good races aswell. :)

Have you done the challenges and got yourself on the leaderboard on Atari site. ?

I am 47th on Speedo Maxout challenge you have to sign up on website then in game press right on d pad and go across to challenges and it shows them on the map. :)

As for friends you can lock them out but it seems to be loading the players around you much quicker then a few days ago.

Hopefully Atari will sort it out to be running smooth i know they are aware due to feedback on Atari forums. :)

Ye saw that the other day quite interesting as its a seperate Island and has the ferry docked be great if could take the ferry lol.

Also looks like its got a race track around it very interesting not long to wait to find out.

I know the main Island has a race track and also has Airport thats where you start game you come from airport where you choose character.

Then you have 5 cars (I think) to choose from to rent to get you to dealer to buy first car and house. :)

here it is the race track. :)

So does anyone know if the PC version will come with all cars enabled when we're having to buy extra ones off the marketplace ?

Not sure but i beleive the pc version of Oblivion had some download feature where you could buy content online so im sure TDU will be the same. :)

Also it nothing concrete yet but i beleive the first 3 Car & Bikes packs to December are going to be free. :)

Steameh said:
are these packs to unlock cars already mentioned? or are they additional cars?

I really hope we don't have to fork out more cash (real) to unlock all the cars.

No there 90 cars & bikes included with the game there going to add additional Cars & Bike packs for 12 months but we were told on Atari forum that the packs until december will be free so that 3 packs. (nothing concrete though)

The full game will have proper dealers like the lambo dealer in the demo you enter the dealer then all different vehicles are spread out.

Remember getting extra Cars & Bikes cost a lot to developers there will be 6 cars a month, and developing 1 car costs £10K + licence so it does not come cheap that why users end up paying. :)

That's all good then. Don't mind paying for extra cars just as long as there are plenty in game at the start.

I read somewhere this game has been 5 years in the making?

Yep 4/5 years its been in the making a lot of research has to been done Oahu a big Island getting it sattelite mapped is even bigger task. :)

On the full game can you see everyone that is playing or does it just pick random people like on the demo.

It shows the 7 closest to you well it suppose to its been ok for me and ive managed to find my friends much better now. :)

You do know how to find your friends by pressing right d pad then go across to players then press X for filters scroll down to bottom change to friends. :)

There many filters you can do you can define skill level or car class to show or everyone choice is yours. :)

The filters don't seem to have any baring on who you see in game, though.

Huh if i set it to friends then i only see my friends on map it shows as a red car and track the movement then you click to join. :)

I done it 3 times now and they eventually show once with Kainz, Zico, Snipergecko.

Also the other filters wont work properly becasue everyone a rookie and there not many cars to test out class.

Like a say demo is very limited and donst show the broad scope like the full game will.

As you progress you become better skilled earn more cash from challenges and have some nice cars and houses oh and clothes.

And then you try to figure out why there's no one there, even though they show on the map :)

Even with the map set filtered to only show friends, I've never ran into anyone I know in the actual game world ;)

Hope they have this working in the release version. I'd rather see my buddies in game than a bunch of randoms.

Well they show for me have you played in the last couple of days because it has improved since the first day demo was released.

In fact Zico and Snipergecko can tell you because i found them both using the method Snipergecko today and Zico ther other day. Both clicking there names and then i waited for names to show which is now pretty instant.

It shows them included with a lot of other players then you just drive to them. Also of course you wont find them when driving around the server holds 60,000 players thats like finding needle in a haystack when you only see closest 7.

I admit its by no means perfect but it certainly has improved since the first day the demo was released.

The filtering doesn't work for me either, can see plenty of friends on the map but even if you click on their names to 'go there', when you get back into the actual game you just end up seeing random people again.

When ive done it there names appear in the group with other people so im not sure if mine have been luck or what but ive managed to do it last couple of days. :)

Well lets hope its all sorted for full game anyway im sure it will be. :)
