Hi all,

Got a 7970 today and already have my EK waterblock and backplate. Would you recommend testing the GPU before putting the block on just in case it is damaged or not bother?

Im inclined not to bother but that could be a clouded judgement because i want to fit the block because it is beautiful!

Darn it. I have no pc at the moment. Just going to have to wait then i suppose... Grrr Asrock RMA....

This makes me even more determined to choose a new mobo asap.

Must be black/white
Must have 1 PCI for Xonar DG

My only choices are Asrock pretty much... Considered painting a gigabyte board but i dont know if i should can push myself to do it... (even emailed gigabyte with a link to my build log to see if they will help... never know if you don't ask)

Thanks Cleeecooo, i know your expertise lay in watercooling but can you explain, briefly, the difference between the EX4 and EX6 z77 asrock boards. Im not sure which to go for. My only reason to go for the cheaper one is the black heatsinks atm.

I'm afraid i'm not particularly clued up on motherboards, but I did use to have an AsRock mobo.

I can't see any differences, but i'm most certainly wrong. Try asking in the motherboards section for people who know what they're talking about:)

Have you seen this mobo:

People were raving about the P67 version which got excellent reviews

Ok thanks. I do love it. But no PCI for Xonar DG...

Haha, xonar DG was delivered only a week ago and my pc is in pieces at the moment. Not even had a chance to use it yet lol. Need the headphone amp for my 250ohm Beyerdynamics, at the time i dont think there were any better options.

i test a new card every time, am glad i did my last 6950 was d.o.a ,would have been a pita if i had fitted block and filled the loop.
